Tammy Slaton Wants Skin Removal Surgery for ‘Head-to-Toe Loose Skin’ in New Season of 1000-Lb. Sisters (Exclusive)
Tammy and Amy Slaton are both looking for fresh starts in the new season of TLC’s 1000-Lb. Sisters.
In PEOPLE’s exclusive preview of season 6, Amy is hoping for change following her divorce from her husband of six years, Michael Halterman.
“So what do you think about my single-mom badass look?” Amy asks Tammy, who quips, “It’s just bad.”
In the clip, Amy tries an exotic dance class and is cheered on as she does the splits, straddles a chair and smacks her behind.
“Now that I’m single, I’ve been trying to find who Amy is and I’m actually finding out I’ve got more potential than I thought,” the 36-year-old says.

Meanwhile, Tammy is also hoping to gain confidence.
The 38-year-old, who underwent bariatric surgery in July 2022, has lost 500 lbs. since beginning her weight loss journey and is now keeping her fingers crossed that she can get skin removal surgery.
“Amy’s got thinner and she’s comfortable with her own body, but I don’t feel that way because of my excess skin,” she admits.
During a doctor’s appointment, the surgeon explains, “You’ve got head-to-toe loose skin. It’s going to take several operations and several healing phases.”
“I’m afraid that I won’t get approved for skin removal,” Tammy says.

This season also sees Tammy and Amy take a family vacation to London alongside their sister Amanda and brother Chris. “I don’t think they’re ready for us,” Amy says while Tammy adds, “They better get ready!”
“In the past, the family trips have torn us apart,” Chris notes. “Hopefully this trip will bring us together as a family.”
However, the trip quickly leads to an explosive argument between the sisters as both Amy and Amanda express their frustration with how Tammy treats and talks to them.
“I have put up with this for 30-something years because poor Tammy, she’s fat, she can’t do s—,” Amanda says. “Now that she’s lost the weight, I’m not excusing that behavior anymore.”
“Now that I’ve lost so much weight, I feel like she’s kinda jealous,” Tammy says in a confessional about Amanda. “She’s not the pretty sister no more.”
