In the August 12 episode of The Other Way, 90 Day Fiance couple Meitalia and James revealed their plans to stay in Indonesia to Meitalia’s parents. Initially, her parents were thrilled; her mother even mentioned that this had been her hope from the beginning. Her father also didn’t mind if James wanted to help with the family’s banana chip business.
However, tensions soon emerged. The couple disclosed their intention to earn a substantial amount to pay off their $15,000 car debt. Moreover, James wants Meitalia’s parents to pay him for selling banana chips for the family business. So, he can cover his $700 monthly car payments back in America.
Meitalia’s father, while receptive, agreed to pay off his debt. However, he set a condition: James must not incur any more debt. The ultimatum doesn’t sit well with James. “I would say ‘yes,’ but sometimes in life, you have to take a loan,” he clarified.
